-Once you SIGN UP
for The Ride, you’ll also receive a Manual to learn about proper nutrition and track your training progress. And last but not least, you can always call your actual human Ride Guides with any questions about training for The Ride. They’ll be able to provide you with one-on-one advice and guidance to ensure achievement of your goals.
Download our suggested guidelines
to help keep track of your weekly workouts, kilometres cycled, hours per week on your bike, and cross-training activities. Remember, these kilometre guidelines are an ideal plan. If you can’t fit all of this into your schedule, don’t get so discouraged that you avoid riding altogether - just doing as much as you can will help your training quite a bit. Again, consistency is the key to proper training. The more you train, the more you’ll enjoy The Ride.
Stretching regularly before and after your training rides and workouts will help attain and maintain flexibility. This will have tremendous payoffs for you during The Ride - muscle pain, stiffness, injuries, and fatigue will all be lessened. Download our TIPS AND TRAINING ON HOW TO STRETCH
. Those stretches should be incorporated into your weekly training schedule now.
These fitness clubs and spinning studios are pleased to offer discounts to participants.

Urban Cyclist Training Ride (Medium-hard paced ride)
When: every Saturday
Meeting location: Urban Cyclist
121 / 747 Botany Road
Rosebery NSW 2018
Meeting time: 6am 8am
Urban Cyclist is providing training rides to help you achieve your goal of completing the Sunsuper Ride To Conquer Cancer. Every Saturday participants are welcome along on a regular medium-hard paced ride from the shop in Rosebery to Cronulla and back.
We leave Urban Cyclist at 6am before heading off to Cronulla and through the heart of the Shire before a steady pace back along Southern Cross Drive to Rosebery. The back of Cronulla offers a few hills to challenge the legs and lungs of those pushing off the front.
Option #2 takes us south again, but instead of cutting through Cronulla, we stay on track to paceline along to Kurnell. Today is all about maintaining high cadence and speed for time trialing practice.
Both rides finish in Rosebery at 800am.
